Job Description: Senior Mechanical Engineer/Technical Lead (E3-E5) – Consumer Products
We are growing and have immediate opportunities here in the Valley for design-minded senior ME’s ready to lead development programs for high-visibility consumer products. SurfaceInk is a small product development consulting group of talented and passionate engineers, with long-term client relationships that include some of the most respected consumer products companies on the planet, as well as a wide variety of smaller companies and start-ups in industries ranging from toys to solar power to medical devices.
We are as devoted to our people and our culture as we are to our clients, getting settled in to our cool, new studio space here in vibrant downtown San Jose (right above a Starbucks!).
Our senior engineers are not only experienced in the many disciplines required in today’s product design world, but are also doggedly proactive about their projects, championing the product vision while building lasting trust with clients and teammates through a genuine sense of service.

Specific Minimum Requirements and Information
o BSME
o At least 5 to 10 years of relevant industry experience, preferably with some technical leadership roles in fast-paced product development cycles
o Demonstrated expertise in Pro/E and/or SolidWorks; include estimated “seat time” in hours for each in your resume or cover letter; analytical software experience a plus, i.e. ANSYS, MoldFlow, Icepak, MathCAD, etc.
o Demonstrated working knowledge of a wide variety of materials and manufacturing processes; experience with off-shore manufacturing for mass production a plus
o Demonstrated superior analytical skills in strengths of materials, statics and mechanisms
o Demonstrated familiarity with the mechanical aspects of thermal and EMI concerns for electronics
o Demonstrated familiarity with the concerns and distinctions of industrial design
