Mechanical Engineer I - IV

A SurfaceInk Mechanical Engineer has a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application. He/she can self-manage within individual tasks, and consistently extends the highest level of customer service to our clients. He/she has a personality and competence that builds a trusting client relationship. SurfaceInk Mechanical Engineers have a basic understanding of the SurfaceInk business model and operations in order to focus on our corporate goals.

Our ideal candidate will have a BS in mechanical engineering and anywhere from 2 - 12 years of relevant experience. Your work history and levels of responsibility should reflect your desired position.

The ideal candidate:

  • Continuously uses investigative communication to thoroughly understand project goals and requests through to completion.
  • Ensures the completion of high quality work.
  • Is aware of project milestones.
  • Will capitalize on opportunities to increase SurfaceInk presence on client projects.
  • Has expert level CAD experience in UG and/or ProE.
  • Is familiar with manufacturing processes.
  • Is familiar with materials.
  • Is familiar with the Product Design cycle.
  • Has demonstrated Engineering Analysis:
    • Strength of materials
    • Mechanisms
    • Static loading / flexure
  • Has experience designing for EMI.
  • Has an awareness of thermal design for electrical equipment.
  • Has excellent communication skills.
  • Has the ability to manage overall workflow on a project.
  • Can forecast future work and maintain client relationships for future work.
  • Will train and mentor junior engineers.
  • Will ensure SI management is kept informed of workload scheduling, including extra help if needed, workload gaps, and time off.
  • Will track the PO status on assigned projects and maintain communication with the client to prevent any unnecessary project delays.
